HALLOWEEN BINGO @ RI VETERANS HOME

Post & Unit 18 of Portsmouth, R.I. hosted our annual Halloween-themed BINGO at the RI Veterans Home on October 24, 2009. This is one of three "signature" events we host; the others are a Valentine's Day themed BINGO in late January/early February; a Spring/Easter themed BINGO in mid-March/early April.

45 veterans from the Home enjoyed the ditty bags (mini-laundry bags filled with socks, toothbrush and toothpaste, healthy snack, postcard with stamp, etc.). An additional 20 bags were distributed to vets in the Home who could not attend the event. This also gives the staff a chance to catch up on paperwork and tend to those who require more care while we provide recreation for the vets in the BINGO hall.
